CHRISTMAS PROGRESSIVE DINNER will be held on Friday, December 28th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with appetizers at the home of Ron & Alberta Birk. Then it will be onto the Fellowship Hall (unless we have an invitation to go elsewhere for salad) and enjoy the remainder of the meal. Entrée will be pork tenderloin with raspberry and mild chipotle sauce, seasoned rice, and green beans. (Catered by Square Plate.) Desserts will follow. Cost for the event will be $15 per person. There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex or contact Alberta Birk or Cynthia Bauer. This event is sponsored by the Parish Life Committee.
CHRISTMAS POINSETTIA ORDER ENVELOPES have been inserted into today’s bulletin. If you wish to order a poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one, please fill out the information on the envelope, place your payment inside and insert the envelope in the labeled box in the narthex. Cost per plant is $10.00. Deadline for orders is Thursday, December 13th.
WORLD HUNGER INITIATIVE: During each Sunday in Advent, beginning December 2 and continuing through December 23, the congregation will have the opportunity to give to the ELCA World Hunger Initiative. The goal is to raise at least $715 for a “Family Farm” that would be comprised of a cow, couple of goats, a dozen chicks, two pigs, farming tools, seeds and agricultural training, along with support to help a family achieve a fresh start and hopefully escape the cycle of hunger and poverty. You may give your donation by making your check out to St. Paul Lutheran Church and earmarking it “Hunger Initiative” and placing it in the offering plate. As the cardboard barn banks are filled, children may bring them to the altar when they receive their children’s bulletins during worship. Adults using the barns may hand them to an usher. This is a project of the Evangelism Committee.
2019 OFFERING ENVELOPES will be placed on the table in the narthex beginning next Sunday, for those who use the envelope system. If you haven’t used offering envelopes in the past and would like to now, please contact the church office.
CONGRATULATIONS and God’s blessings to Pastor Fred and Kathy on the birth of their first grandchild, to son Kendall and daughter-in-law Laura, Mika Elisa Krebs-Holm, born on Wednesday, November 28. Mother and baby are home, and doing well.
