THE SPECIAL CALLED CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held today immediately following the worship service. The Congregation Council is recommending to the congregation two items for approval. The first project for approval is updating, replacing, and installing door locks for the entire property to remain compliant with property insurance guidelines. The work by Hyder and Son Safe & Lock will be $5,850.00. The funds for this project will be taken from the Special Funds: Memorial Fund (for the sanctuary only) and then from the Building Fund: Keep St. Paul Beautiful and Memorial/Interest Funds respectively and as needed. The second item for approval is the St. Paul Call Committee.
THE PROPERTY COMMITTEE is sponsoring a Church Work Day on Saturday, April 20, 8:30 to 3:30 p.m. or until the project list is done. A listing of projects to be completed is on the table in the Narthex. If there are other projects that individuals would like to see done, please add them to the list. If you do add a project, please include your name so that we can contact you to ask questions to be sure we understand what needs to be accomplished.
SPECIAL OFFERING: This year the synodical offering will be designated to Lutheran Disaster Response. This ministry plays a key role in our being sent into the world; responding to all kinds of needs. In addition to monetary offerings, we will be making various kinds of disaster preparedness and response kits! Baskets will be located at each of the exits or you may place your gift in the offering plate: St. Paul Lutheran and mark it Lutheran Disaster Response.
SYNOD ASSEMBLY Cindy Bowden and LeEster Burch will be representing St. Paul as voting members at the Synod Assembly in early May. In addition to asking for a monetary offering, we will be supporting Lutheran Disaster Response. There are two ways to support: In response to the disaster at the border, there is a need for new or used (clean) tennis shoes. We will also be adding some items to Disaster Buckets. This five gallon bucket is filled with various necessities when a natural disaster strikes. The SW conferences have been assigned specific items. The Hill Country Conference is asked to supply long handled scrub brushes and work gloves. There will be a labeled box in the Narthex for donations until May 2. Thank you very much!
