ANNOUNCEMENTS
PRAYER LIST: Please lift up the following: Joyce Ewert, Richard Lindley, Carl Martin, Chris Habecker, Christina Reichenau, Jay and Beverly Marek, Lynn Ake, Tammi Pinter, Sandra Newberry, Gretchen Qualls, Karen Eckert, Vera Marin, Nettie Geistweidt (Joe D. Geistweidt’s wife), Kyla Rasch, Lindzee Lewis (cousin of Shelby Lehmberg), COVID-19 Pandemic, and those serving in the military.
TODAY we will dedicate the completion of the stained glass window renovation project to the glory of God following the Lord’s prayer and before the sending Hymn.
NEEDED! We are seeking a team of 2 people to take charge of the setup for our “Journey to Bethlehem” Christmas Luminary in the Park on December 12. It is important that we carry on this gift to our community. Please contact Ann Mahnken, 347-5474.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR! “JAM Sunday” will be October 17, with service time at 10:00 a.m.! This will be an uplifting outdoor service in our church park, so bring a lawn chair or a blanket on which to sit. After the jam service, the annual Mexican Pile-on Luncheon will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
MEXICAN PILE-ON LUNCHEON will immediately follow the jam service on Sunday, October 17. This annual fundraiser helps defray the cost of children attending summer church camp. A sign-up sheet has been placed on the table in the narthex for donations of food for the Pile-on. Your help is needed to make this event a success!
Cakes for Christmas Lights: With the completion of the stained-glass window project, it is time to address the missing Christmas lights. With the difficulty in finding replacement bulbs, the church council has decided to replace the current lights with more cost efficient (and cooler) LED lights. The estimated cost is $5200 and we already have $3500! We would like to get this finished before Christmas.
Let’s have an old-fashioned cake auction to raise the rest! Following the Mexican Pile On, we will have a lively “Cakes for Christmas Lights” auction led by Jeff Owen, auctioneer extraordinaire. If you have a favorite dessert item to donate, please have it in the Parish Hall kitchen by Sunday morning of the auction. Call LeEster if you have any questions! Thank you!
