ANNOUNCEMENTS
WOMEN OF THE CHURCH are invited to a baby girl shower on Sunday, August 19th welcoming a special blessing to the family of Billy and Brandy Todd and big brothers, Ryne and Rylan. We hope all the ladies in our church family will put this date on their calendar and come and celebrate this blessing from 2 to 4 in the Fellowship Hall!
FISH FRY FUNDRAISER will be held Sunday, August 26 immediately following worship. Dress is casual. A meal of fried catfish, potato salad, beans, hushpuppies and dessert will be provided for a free-will offering. The council has designated the offering to help with expenses to repair the stained glass windows on the church and replaced the lexan covering. Volunteers are needed to bake cakes for dessert for the event. A sign-up sheet has been placed on the table in the narthex. There will be no cake auction this year.
INVITATION: You are cordially invited to the installation service for The Rev. Susan Jennifer Briner as Bishop of the Southwestern Texas Synod. The service will be held at University United Methodist Church, 5084 De Zavala Road in San Antonio at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1. For additional information contact info@swtsynod.org.
FIRST TIME CONFIRMATION STUDENTS and their parents, along with those who were confirmed this past May, will meet Wednesday, September 5 beginning at 6:00 p.m. A meal will be served for everyone first; then newly attending confirmands will meet with Pastor Fred, while those confirmed last year will meet with Ann Mahnken and Kim Hengst. This meeting is very important so please plan to attend.
